I-476 NB/SB Traffic Restrictions tonight between Lehigh Valley - Pocono

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling on the Northeastern Extension (I-476) north from the Lehigh Valley (Exit #56) and south from the Pocono (Exit #95) interchanges, to be prepared for bi-directional and intermittent single-lane traffic patterns to be effect tonight until 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Construction crews will establish a single-lane traffic pattern in both directions during pile driving for temporary shoring. The patterns will be lifted by 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The construction work is associated with the replacement of two mainline bridges that carry the Turnpike over State Route 209 and the Pohopoco Creek, and Pohopoco Drive in Franklin Township, Carbon County.

Motorists should stay alert for slow moving construction vehicles or stopped traffic approaching the Mahoning Valley interchange and obey the posted speed limits through the work zone.   The work is weather permitting and could be cancelled.

Motorists are urged to obey posted 40/55 mph speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all work areas. Construction-zone speed limits are enforceable, and fines will be increased. For emergencies, dial *11 on your mobile device.
