Copper theft reported in Tamaqua

A Pottsville janitorial service contacted Tamaqua Police on Dec. 5 in connection with missing copper at a property they were maintaining and now hope to buy.

Sean Black of K&M Janitorial told police that copper pipes and copper wire were removed from the property at 252 Van Gelder St., which became the property of Bank of America on Aug. 8.Reportedly, K&M personnel became aware of the theft this past summer, when they were cutting grass at the property. There was no reason given as to why they waited months to report the theft.
