A Schuylkill County man has been charged with simple assault and harassment following an incident that occurred on Monday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at 45 E. Washington St., Port Carbon.Troopers said William Laundry, 45, is accused of assaulting a 31-year-old female at that address during the time frame of 4 a.m. to 2:16 p.m. Troopers said Laundry and the female became involved in a physical altercation during which he struck the female in the area of her left eye and torso and grabbed her by the neck. She sustained bodily injuries as a result of the altercation.Troopers said charges have been filed.
