A Carbon County commissioner has responded to a recent one-man protest near the Carbon County Courthouse in Jim Thorpe.

Carbon County Commissioners' Chairman Wayne E. Nothstein said, "It's just a normal procedure that we take at any other time. The person decided to go from full-time to part-time, and that's what happens when you have to separate for two weeks. That's the policy, and that's what we did."The Carbon County Correctional Facility employee had made the move over a two-week separation after he requested to go from a full-time correctional officer to part-time.
