A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following an incident and crash that occurred at 5:37 p.m. on Dec. 3.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Kelly Gorman, 25, of Auburn, was driving a 2007 Acura RDZ southbound on Route 183 in Cressona when she passed out and slumped over the steering wheel while in the travel lane.Several passers-by stopped to assist, believing she may have been suffering from a medical condition. The doors of the vehicle were locked. After several attempts, Gorman woke up, put her vehicle in reverse, and backed into the 2004 Volkswagen Jetta of Diana Bashinsky of Minersville, which was stopped behind her. Both vehicles were eventually moved off the road, and traffic, which was backed up in both directions, began moving again.Gorman was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
