December 10, 1946 Tommy McCready nets a game-high 14 points, including a game-tying shot late in the fourth quarter and an important insurance basket, to help Summit Hill edge Mauch Chunk Catholic by a 37-36 score. Trailing by two, McCready hits a shot to knot the score at 34-34. After Duilio Marcon's free throw puts the Hillers up a point, McCready adds another basket with 10 seconds to push the margin to three. Marconi finishes with 13 points in the contest while Byron Halpin contributes seven. "Pud" Solski and Mike Friel both tally 10 points in a losing effort.
