Snow is still coming

Most local areas got only a little ice overnight and virtually no snow.

Most schools had a two-hour delay.Further north, in Luzerne, Lackawanna and Wayne counties, there were multiple school closings because of snow and ice.Our area is likely to be belted with winter weather tonight.The National Weather Service is calling for four to eight inches of snow overnight.A winter storm warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday.While rain is expected to fall throughout today, the turnover to snow will happen during the night and will accumulate.Forecasters say the snow will be heavy, which will make it hard to shovel and could be a burden to utility lines.The snow probably won't stick around too long, though.Warmer temperatures will be arriving over the weekend and by Monday there's a possibility the mercury could hit the 50 degree mark.Tomorrow, besides the snow, conditions are expected to turn breezy with winds up to 20 miles per hour.AccuWeather, a private weather forecasting firm based at State College, is calling for slightly less snow that the National Weather Service.According to AccuWeather, three to six inches of snow could accumulate before ending early Wednesday afternoon.
