Residents at Edgemont Lodge Personal Care Home in Lansford were almost evacuated Sunday morning after a furnace malfunctioned in the building.

According Mark Nalesnik, coordinator for the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency, Lansford fire crews and the EMA responded after receiving calls for a possible issue at the home.He said that there was a problem with the furnace or plumbing that required the response and possible evacuation of the residents, but the evacuation was deemed not necessary after further evaluation.
