The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain in effect from 4 p.m. today to 1 a.m. Saturday in Carbon and Monroe counties.

Expect accumulations of sleet and snow accumulation up to 1 inch, along with up to a tenth of an inch of ice. Temperatures will be in the low 30s. The combination will create slippery conditions this afternoon into tonight, especially for higher elevations, and will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility and use caution while driving.

A coastal storm May up impact the area in the Monday through Wednesday time frame.
