1,200 still without power after Wednesday's storm

More than 1,200 in the region are still without electricity after the first storm of the season dumped several inches of heavy, wet snow on trees in the region, causing branches to break and fall on lines.

As of 8 a.m., Carbon has 357 PPL customers without power, with customers in East Penn, Towamensing and Parryville waiting to get started on their Thanksgiving meals.

In Monroe, 649 homes are without power, and 208 are out in Schuylkill.

PPL has been in weather-emergency status since 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
