Still in the hunt entering the final week

Something feels real different entering the final week of the 2014 Grid Picks.

I'm just two games back and still have a shot to win it.It's not to often I find myself in this position. So I not only have that Ol' Crystal Ball by my side, but I've polished it up a bit so I get the real answer on a few of the games that are toss-ups. Now that it's playoff time, it's anybody's guess who will win some of these games.Brad Hurley and Rod Heckman are tied at the top, Patrick Matsinko is one game back and yours truly is two games behind. As far back as I remember, this one was one of the best Grid Picks races ever.So let's get the games up on the board here and take our shot:NORTHWESTERN LEHIGH VS. DUNMORE - The Bucks are undefeated, but how can you pick against the Tigers after the win they had over North Schuylkill last week...Northwestern Lehigh, 21-14.DELCO CHRISTIAN VS. PIUS X - Got to see the speed of the Royals last weekend against Marian. Delco is playing on just three days rest...Pius X, 28-6.PARKLAND VS. EASTON - Red Rovers haven't missed a beat. Trojans will get close, but ...Easton, 28-21.CRESTWOOD VS. BETHLEHEM CATHOLIC - Taking a good hard look into the Crystal Ball at this one. Does Crestwood have anyone that can stop the Golden Hawks speedy offense...Crestwood, 28-24.CENTRAL DAUPHIN VS. GOVERNOR MIFFLIN - Looks like the non-league pickup that Lehighton had on its schedule this season is the real deal...Governor Mifflin, 28-19.CENTRAL DAUPHIN EAST VS. WILSON WEST LAWN - Wilson West Lawn seems to be strong every year. This year is no different...Wilson West Lawn, 21-7.OLD FORGE VS. SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT - Old Forge has made quite a name for itself up in the Wilkes-Barre area this year. South Williamsport comes in under the radar wit a strong team here also...South Williamsport, 14-13.YORK CATHOLIC VS. CAMP HILL - Whenever you hear the name York Catholic, you think of strong girls and boys basketball programs. Can Camp Hill pull one off here on the gridiron?...Camp Hill, 14-7.SPRINGFIELD-MONTCO VS.NEUMANN-GORETTI - This one could be a real mismatch if Springfield-Montco isn't careful...Neumann-Goretti, 28-7.GREAT VALLEY VS. SPRINGFIELD DELCO - My Philadelphia area scout tells me that this one could be a toss-up. Crystal Ball says...Springfield-Delco, 21-18.WYOMISSING VS. BERKS CATHOLIC - It comes down to who played the tough schedule here as far as I'm concerned...Wyomissing, 24-21.LOYALKSOCK VS. MONTOURSVILLE - A win over Southern Columbia is enough to convince this writer who to pick here...Montoursville, 21-14.ARCHBISHOP WOOD VS. IMHOTEP CHARTER - If this was a basketball game, I'd have to think twice. In football, it's...Archbishop Wood, 24-13.NORTHAMPTON AT CATASAUQUA - Turn to the Turkey Day games here and the team who usually is suppose to win usually doesn't. We'll still take...Northampton, 24-12.EASTON AT PHILLIPSBURG - Red Rovers won't have much time to think about this one if they're still alive in the PIAA playoffs...Easton, 28-20.
