Free Range Folk to jam at opera house

The Mauch Chunk Opera House at 14 W. Broadway in Jim Thorpe presents the Third Annual Harvest Jam with Free Range Folk on Thanksgiving Eve.

Enjoy the bounty of the season with Free Range Folks and friends during this evening of good music and local organic food prepared by the 14 Acre Farm. Dance with friends to the music and get yourself in the mood to give thanks the following day.Free Range Folk officially came together in 2010 over long-standing interests in farming, family, a back-to-basics lifestyle, and by their general love of the outdoors and music. Their music is Americana, bluegrass, acoustic rock, with the kind of rockin' beat that makes you want to dance.The band brings all this together to create a campfire-jam-with-friends-under-the-stars type atmosphere. Banjo, guitar, mandolin, jaw harp, musical saw, upright bass and percussion are their choice of instrumentation.Enjoy performances by the The Coal County Express Bluegrass Band, musical guest duo Shane and Livi, The reggae groove of Amrev2. Dani Davison brings her Eclectic Circus of Sky-scraping stilt-walkers, hypnotic hoop dancers, jugglers and acrobats to the party and the chefs from 14 Acre Farm bring their organic food skillfully prepared.Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show to follow at 7.
