A Slatington man was charged after borough police were asked to check on his welfare.

According to police, at 4:12 p.m., on Monday, officer William Borst went to 435 Main St., to check on Troy Long, 49, of 8528 Rextown Road.They found Long to be in possession of a controlled substance.He has been charged with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
