What should people ask about the pipeline?

Gas Safety USA operator Bob Ackley suggests owners of land under which the pipeline would run should ask these questions:

1. What pressure is allowed, and what is the pressure expected to run at?2. How often is it checked for leaks or patrolled and what is the procedure?3. How close is it allowed to dwellings?4. Any compensation to landowners?5. Any plan to expand with more pipelines?6. What rights do landowners cede to the pipeline operator?7. How will the pipeline operator keep (people) from excavating near the pipe?8. What types of emergencies do the operators plan for?9. Will the pipeline have emergency shutoff valves, and where will they be?10. What is the emergency plan?Chris Parker
