November 14, 1964 Slatington's fourth-quarter stand prevents a loss and allows the Bulldogs and Jim Thorpe to end in a 7-7 tie. The Olympians threaten to take the lead in the final period by driving to the 3-yard line but the Slaters' defense stiffens. A 52-yard touchdown pass from Ken Lehman to Larry Parry, along with the extra-point kick from Joe Paules, gives Slatington a lead in the opening frame. Thorpe's Bill Dart scores on a 38-yard run in the third quarter, and George Mann's conversion run forces the tie.
