Steeped in Irish tradition, the Brock McGuire Band brings its repertoire to Tamaqua tonight with a concert at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center.

Fronted by Moving Cloud founding members Paul Brock and Manus McGuire, the band's tight, tenacious blend of instruments emphasizes mostly Irish music, but there is also a sprinkling of impressive arrangements of American Old Timey, Bluegrass, French-Canadian and other Celtic traditions.Button accordionist and melodeonist Brock and fiddler McGuire reside in County Clare and are two of Ireland's most celebrated traditional musicians. They have been at the forefront of Irish music for many years through their joint work with Moving Cloud. Manus is also a founding member of Buttons & Bows, and both bands, ranking among Ireland's finest, have helped to introduce international audiences to the virtuosity of their playing.Also performing with the Brock McGuire Band are two outstanding musicians: Dublin based Garry O'Meara, a brilliant banjo, mandolin player and vocalist; and Denis Carey, an acclaimed pianist, composer and arranger from Newport, County Tipperary.The band has also made appearances in Nashville, Tennessee; Baltimore; New York City; and Washington, D.C.The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is
