Probation hearings held

Six defendants were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program for first-time offenders on Monday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

Kristi Leigh Gollick, 42, of Lehighton, was placed for two years on a charge of accidents involving death orpersonal injury. She was arrested on July 16 by Jim Thorpe police following an incident along Race Street.She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a mental health evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, and make restitution in an amount to be determined by the adult probation office.Mariah Ashley Griffin-Green, 30, of Lehighton, was placed for a year on a charge of DUI. She was arrested on May 7 along Route 248 at Bowmanstown by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $650 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation, and have her license suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.Nelson Lorenzo, 57, of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, was placed for a year on a charge of simple assault. He was arrested on June 27 by state police at Fern Ridge for a domestic incident in Penn Forest Township with Isabel Lorenzo the listed victim.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get both drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations and have no contact with the victim.Alexander Patrick Mariscano, 21, of Pocono Pines, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana.He was arrested on April 10 in the area of Route 209 and Trachsville Hill Road in Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton.He was assessed $650 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation.Kristy Lynn Mertz, 35, of Lehighton, was placed for a year on a charge of driving under the influence. She was arrested on June 17 along Second Street in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation, and have her license suspended for 60 days.Frank James Rogers, 52, of Summit Hill, was placed for a year on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 2 along East Street by Lehighton police after being involved in an accident. Given a test, the result was 0.22 BAC.He was assessed $550 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation, make restitution in an amount to be determined, and have his license suspended for 60 days.
