State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two-vehicle crash at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday along Route 534 in Polk Township.

Troopers said Peter F. Baumann, 55, of Hamden, Connecticut, was northbound while Tammy J. Scott, 39, of Albrightsville, was southbound. While negotiating a right curve, Baumann lost control of his 2000 Ford Windstar and crossed into the southbound lane and collided into Scott's 2004 Mazda RX8. Both vehicles came to rest in the southbound lane.Both drivers and a 12-year-old female from Albrightsville traveling with Scott suffered injuries but were treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.Baumann was cited for traveling at an unsafe speed.
