A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the state liquor code.
Cindy's Rusty Nail, 939 Mauch Chunk Road, Palmerton, was cited on Sept. 3 for permitting smoking in a public place where smoking is prohibited under the Clean Indoor Air Act. Also cited on the same date for licensed premises was not a bona fide restaurant in that they maintained insufficient food items. A citation was also issued for falsified records covering the operation of the licensed business between Sept. 1, 2012, and Sept. 3, 2014.Those charged will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenders and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation of license based on the severity of the charges brought.
