Tamaqua police assisted a state parole agent with serving a warrant on Nov. 4 and then filed their own charges against Brian Filer, 47.
The parole agent went to Filer's home address, 31 N. Railroad St., at 4:17 p.m. to serve the warrant. Filer threatened to harm the agent, then fled. He was caught on Cottage Avenue after police assisted with the search.Filer admitted he had been "drinking and smoking weed all day," and a homemade aluminum foil bowl with marijuana residue was found in his bedroom.He was taken to the Schuylkill County prison on the warrant, which was for a parole violation.He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
