A Schuylkill County driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 8:05 p.m. on Saturday along Interstate 81 in Butler Township.

State police at Frackville said Naomi E. Scearce, 46, of Valley View, was driving a 1990 Mazda Miata southbound in the left lane when she saw an object in her lane of travel. She swerved to avoid it but lost control. The Mazda struck the guide rail along the west side of the road, then crossed both lanes of travel and struck the guide rail on the east side, where the car came to rest.
