Lehigh Township police are investigating a crash which occurred Monday afternoon along Route 248.

The crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. near the intersection with Aspen Road.

The driver of an ambulance apparently lost control while driving east just having passed through the intersection in Berlinsville. The unit entered the right berm traveling across a large lawn of a community park narrowly missing a wood structure and as high chain link fence before impacting with and snapping off a large wooden utility pole with a light.

The unit continued on re-entering the roadway coming to rest along the berm.

A patient on the rig was transferred to the Northern Valley ambulance to continue his transport. There were no injuries of the Sunny Ambulance unit.
