An experiment in revegetating the landscape near Palmerton is literally beginning to bear fruit. Scientist John Oyler, working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, along with Dr. William Sopper of Penn State University, is supervising a project that may ultimately reforest areas of Blue Mountain over Palmerton.

Oyler was pleased with the progress of the project after surveying acres of mountainside where eight varieties of grass and various species of trees have been battling the contaminated soil since pring.
