Cub Scout Pack 138 and Boy Scout Troop 555 are conducting the annual Scouting for Food campaign. Tags were distributed to the houses this past weekend, so they now need people to place food in the bags for the food pantries.

Scouts will be going around on Saturday to pick up the food. Please, no spoiled food, only nonperishable foods and no expired food.Bags with the food for the local pantries, should be on the porches of the residences by 8 a.m. If your food isn't picked up by 11-11:30, please call Will Bauer at 570-446-7888 and we will come pick it up or you may take it down to one of these three churches: Christ Lutheran Church, Penn Forest Township, St. Joseph's Church, North Street; or Ebenezer Evangelical Church, Centre Avenue.Borough leafcollection scheduledLeaf pickup in the borough will begin Monday. During the first week, the leaves will be collected on Broadway, West Broadway and the Heights.
