A Carbon County man is facing a felony charge in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle in Luzerne County.
State police at Lehighton identified the suspect as Avery Marshal Ziegenfus, 20, of Jim Thorpe.According to troopers a 1999 Suzuki SW was stolen from along Laurel Run in Wilkes-Barre, which was investigated by troopers at the Wyoming barracks. The owner was identified as Michael Bankus, 61.Lehighton troopers were requested by Wyoming to go to 99 Wargo Drive in Penn Forest Township, the Ziegenfus residence, and check for the stolen vehicle.Lehighton troopers went to the residence on Thursday at 10:55 p.m. and found the Suzuki in the driveway. A further investigation revealed Ziegenfus took the vehicle without permission.Ziegenfus was arrested and charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property. He was lodged in the county prison in Nesquehoning. Troopers said additional charges are pending against Ziegenfus in Luzerne County.
