A Jim Thorpe man is facing a bad check charge, filed by Nesquehoning police.
Joseph Karper, 71, of 29 E. Third St., has been charged as the result of issuing a check to Kattners Coal & Fuel, 333 W. Railroad St., on Sept. 19, for $336.90. On Sept. 26 the check was returned for insufficient funds.The firm then sent a certified letter to Karper on Oct. 2 concerning the check. The firm waited 21 days but got no response from Karper.Police attempted to contact Karper at his residence but could not. As of Oct. 26 Karper did not respond to police and the charge was filed.
