The Jim Thorpe Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire at 216 W. 13th St. in the borough just before 11 p.m. Saturday. The first crew responded within minutes and found a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters had to use foam to put the fire out. The cause of the fire was unknown, as there was too much damage done to the vehicle for that to be determined, according to borough Fire Chief Jarrod Steber. No injuries were reported. There was some grass damage.
