Firefighters are on the scene of a wind-swept blaze that gutted a house along a rural, dirt road
at the border of Rush and Ryan townships.
Schuylkill Communications Center dispatched response teams at 2:15 p.m. to the area of 40 Long Lane,
a narrow, dirt road on out the outskirts of Grier City.
There, emergency responders found the home of Susanne M. Long full engulfed. Long lives in the residence
with daughter Briana, said neighbors, and both are believed to have escaped harm.
"The place was almost down by the time we got here," said one firefighter at the scene.
The property straddles both Rush and Ryan townships.
