State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes being investigated by troopers on Wednesday in Schuylkill County.
The first crash was reported at 8:33 a.m. along Ann Street in Norwegian Township. Troopers said Jason J. Eiler, 30, of Pottsville, was driving a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport pickup truck westbound and failed to negotiate a right curve on the wet road.His vehicle entered the opposing lane and collided into a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Holly J. Hoban, 47, of Minersville.Eiler was not injured but two juvenile passengers, females ages 8 and 10, sustained minor injuries. Hoban and her passenger, Morgan P. Kovack, 20, of Minersville, also sustained minor injuries. All the injured were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville.The second crash occurred at 11:49 a.m. at the intersection of Route 183 and Long Run Road, in Wayne Township. Troopers said Courtney M. Herring, 18, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am northbound on 183 and attempted to turn left to go onto Long Run Road.Sheena A. Snyder, 27, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber, was southbound on 183 and struck the Grand Am in the intersection.Herring, Snyder and her passenger, a 3-year-old girl in a child safety seat, were all not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Herring for vehicle turning left.
