A bear was blamed for a one-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County at 8:55 p.m. Monday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jared L. Meyers, 21, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2007 Volvo S40 northbound on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township when a bear entered the road over the center median from a area on the southbound side of the road.The Volvo hit the bear as it crossed the northbound lanes. Meyers was not injured but the Volvo had to be towed from the scene.
