Warrant issued for Hazleton man

Rush Township Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Robert Stalter Jr., 41, of Hazleton, following two thefts at the HT Commons Wal-Mart.

Stalter is accused of entering the store on Oct. 6, stealing merchandise worth $110.80, and then returning the merchandise for a refund. He then went back to the store on Oct. 19, stole $148.11 worth of merchandise, then had an accomplice take the items to the service desk for a refund.The accomplice was identified as Robert Macharsky Jr., 41, of Tamaqua. Macharsky was charged with theft by deception, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy.Charges against Stalter will also be theft by deception, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy.Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Stalter is asked to contact police at 570-668-4242.
