A 57-year-old Blakeslee man was killed during a tractor trailer collision early this morning on Route 33 in Monroe County, one-fourth mile south of the Snydersville exit.

State Police at Swiftwater barracks said August H. Hipple was pronounced dead at the scene by Monroe County Coroner Robert Allen.According to police, Hipple's combination rig struck a disabled tractor-trailer unit parked on the highway. The disabled rig was operated by Ronald Jost of Fleetwood, who told police he was southbound when he noticed the trailer had dislodged from his vehicle. He turned the tractor around, parked in front of the trailer with his four ways flashing and set up flares.Hipple, also southbound, apparently failed to see the stopped rig.
