Several members of the Blanket Ministry at Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, display just a small fraction of the110 covers they created to benefit Victim Resource Centers in Schuylkill and Luzerne counties, as well as local churches serving people in need. The blankets were blessed before being distributed. Members include (from left) Judy Brennan, Bob Jones, Mary Jane Turton, Shirley Becker, Marion Kline and Gail Jones; as well as Velma Mantz, Jane Springer, Jayne Steigerwalt, Beverly Batman, Carol Dietrich and the late Jean Derralso. The group constructs the blankets and covers during the summer and fall. Anyone interesting in taking part in next year's project may call 570-668-2180.
