Two injured in early morning crash in Nesquehoning

Two people were injured Friday morning when they were involved in a crash along Route 54 in Nesquehoning. The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection with Park Avenue and Stock Street (Route 54). Police report Wes Hurley of Jim Thorpe was traveling east when he lost control of the vehicle while entering into the right berm, where his car impacted and snapped off a utility pole. Hurley and his passenger were both transported to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. Route 54 was closed for approximately an hour.
