A Schuylkill County jury has acquitted a Mahanoy City woman accused of stabbing to death her mother's boyfriend.

Kimberly Hons, 34, had been charged with voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person in the death of 52-year-old Lawrence Quinn, who died of a single stab wound on Dec. 1.Quinn had been engaged in a dispute with Hons' mother, and an argument had ensued after the dispute.According to court testimony and arrest documents, Hons stabbed Quinn at 4:35 a.m. in the house where she lived with him and her mother, Linda Smith.It remains unclear why Hons, who did not flee, was not arrested until five months after the stabbing.
