R.W. Altemose & Son Hardware recently demolished the former Nevin and Fran Dorshimer house located next to the hardware store on the south side of the intersection of routes 209 and 715. That intersection is slated to undergo lane widening. Sean Brown,Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 5 press officer, said that PennDOT will open bids for the project sometime in December and the project could start next year. Routes 209 and 715 will be widened to add turning lanes, and new traffic signals will be installed to help alleviate traffic backups.
