A tractor-trailer rig crashed along Interstate 81 in Ryan Township, Schuylkill County, at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

State police at Frackville said Gerald W. Grant, 65, of Montpelier, Ohio, was driving a 2013 Mack truck with trailer southbound when the rig left the road on the west side. It traveled about 150 feet then re-entered the southbound lane for another 150 feet before leaving the road a second time on the west side.At this point the truck traveled 100 feet along the berm before striking some trees. After impact with the trees, the truck continued south along the berm for 75 feet where it finally came to rest on the shoulder facing southwest.Grant was injured and taken by Ryan Township ambulance to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township, Luzerne County.Troopers said he was cited for the crash.
