State police at Frackville are investigating an attempted theft in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the incident occurred at 1 Coal St., in Middleport, at 1:55 p.m. Saturday.Troopers said three suspects arrived at the location in an older white Ford pickup.They then approached an older barn on the property which was posted with no trespassing signs. The three then began to gather piles of wood from the barn.The three were confronted by an individual from the area. They then got into the truck and fled without taking any of the wood. They were last seen driving south on Route 209 toward New Philadelphia.Two of the three were described as being in their 20s, 5 feet, 5 or 6-inches tall. One had black hair, and was wearing a black winter cap. The third suspect was believed to be in his 40s, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall.Anyone with information is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.
