A Luzerne County driver is facing charges of driving under the influence and a drug count following an incident in Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Duane Anthony Modest Jr., 31, of Wilkes-Barre, was stopped for a traffic violation at 9:38 p.m. on Aug. 7, along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township.Modest was suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and while performing field sobriety tests, he tossed a partially burnt marijuana cigarette from his hand onto the ground without being seen. He was arrested and submitted to a blood test. The result showed the presence of marijuana, troopers said. He was charged with DUI and drug possession.
