A Shenandoah area man is charged with shooting another in the back.

West Mahanoy Township police on Saturday charged Marc Anthony Galan, 25, also of Shenandoah, with felony charges of attempted murder, robbery, and aggravated assault; simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a weapon, theft and receiving stolen property.Galan was arraigned before a district judge at 12:55 a.m. He's in Schuylkill County Prison under $500,000 bail, according to online court documents.Galan is accused of shooting Jeremiah Ney, 18, of William Penn, West Mahanoy Township in the back in the woods in the area on Thursday. Ney was taken to a hospital for treatment.
