Wreckers close with win
Weatherly's boys soccer team ended its season on a winning note, blanking North Schuylkill.

SchuylkillWeatherly used goals from three different players to gain a 3-0 win over North Schuylkill in its season finale.The Wreckers (4-14) received tallies from Derek Coombs, John Hinkle and Jake Stover. Weatherly's Trent Dempsey assisted on all three goals, which came in the first half.North Schuylkill had a 12-7 advantage in shots on goal but Nick Miller stopped all 12 shots to earn the shutout win.FOOTBALLJUNIOR VARSITYLehighton-Panther Vy.Lehighton rolled to a 44-0 victory over Panther Valley.The Indians scored on offense, defense and special teams. Offensively Mike Mayernik scored two rushing touchdowns while Jahmir Spencer, Cam Christman and Nik Skrincosky all ran for one score. Dominic Polumbo added a pick six and Collen Troxell returned a punt to paydirt.Lehighton (4-1-1) will play at Pottsville on Monday.MIDDLE SCHOOLLehighton-Panther Vy.Lehighton defeated Panther Valley, 41-6.Brandon Frey, who finished with three carries for 101 yards in the game, ran 56 yards for a score on the first play of the game to put the Indians ahead for good. Zach Crum had rushing and receiving touchdowns for Lehighton and also kicked five extra points. Shane Williams added two rushing TDs and Chris Whiteman scored once.The Lehighton defense was one play away from its third straight shutout, but the Panthers scored on the last play of the game. Frey had an interception while Crum, Hunsicker, Howland all recovered fumbles. Jacob Begel added two sacks.Shenandoah-TamaquaTamaqua routed Shenandoah, 54-16, to remain undefeated.Nick Breiner carried the ball five times for 159 yards for the Raiders (7-0) and scored three touchdowns. Jake Barron, Nate Boyle, Mike Bonetsky and Pierce Demetriades all scored one touchdown while Brayden Knoblauch passed for a score.Tamaqua will host Blue Mountain (7-0) on Monday at 5 p.m.
