Tamaqua police have filed charges in connection with a Sept. 24 accident.

Jeremy A. Snyder, 33, of 27 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua, was driving a black Kia north on Center Street at 11:36 p.m. when he struck the rear of another northbound vehicle, lost control and hit a telephone pole, snapping it in two. Snyder appeared to be intoxicated and was given and failed field sobriety tests.Initially, he agreed to blood tests, but then changed his mind at the hospital.He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, following too closely, driving at an unsafe speed and reckless driving.
