Thefts investigated

State police at Lehighton are investigating several theft incidents.

Troopers are investigating the theft of four 12-volt batteries from a back of a truck. The incident occurred at 150 White St. in Weissport. Chris Phillip Metz, 36, of Lehighton, reported the thefts. There is no time frame for the thefts.Joseph Douglas Schmelzle, 36, of 153 Old Stage Coach Road in Gilbert, Polk Township, reported a box of comic books and a box of silverware was taken form his residence. No time frame was listed for the thefts.A 1972 Triumph motorcycle was removed from a barn on the property of a 46-year-old male in the 500 block of Frable Road, in Kunkletown. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 10-14.Someone removed batteries from concrete trucks parked in a lot at the Rock Hill Concrete firm, located at 125 Rock Hill Road, in Parryville. The thefts occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Sept. 15 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 16.Kirk Wecoe, 63, of 125 Tar Run Road, Lehighton, Towamensing Township, reported two propane tanks and a cover were removed from a camper on his property. The theft was reported at 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 16.About 20 catalytic converters were removed from various vehicles on the lot of LKQ Thruway Auto Parts, located at 201 State Road in Parryville. The theft was reported at 12:40 p.m. on Oct. 2.Gas cans were removed from the yard of John S. Moreton, 67, of 2505 Deer Lane, Lehighton, sometime between 8 p.m. Oct. 5 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 6.Kelly A. York, 45, of Effort, reported a pocketbook was removed from her car while parked at 2020 Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township sometime between 9 p.m. on Oct. 7 and 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 8.Helen Fagan of Kunkletown reported someone gained access to her debit card account and made fraudulent purchases on Oct. 9.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.
