A Schuylkill County man was jailed for assault early Monday morning.

State police at Frackville said Brian James Corbett, 34, of 225 Mahanoy Ave., in Nuremburg, North Union Township, came home at 2:31 a.m. intoxicated. He began an argument with a 30-year-old female who was lying in bed.The argument escalated into a physical confrontation when Corbett grabbed the female by the throat and threw her onto the floor. He then stomped on her left toe, causing an apparent broken toe.Corbett was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment.He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $5,000 bail.
