A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:47 a.m. on Sunday.

State police at Frackville said Ryan Peter Buchman, 19, of Ringtown, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pickup southbound on Route 924 in Sheppton, East Union Township, when he lost control while negotiating a left curve. The truck left the road and spun around, striking a tree with the rear end.Buchman, who was not injured, admitted consuming several alcoholic beverages earlier in the night. He was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville, for a blood test.The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
