Passwords changed in breach at Jim Thorpe high school

Jim Thorpe Area School High School has changed students' computer passwords after a breach.

"There was no hacking involved by any means. At one point, students got their hands on some passwords. We found out immediately and changed them all," Superintendent Brian Gasper said Friday.

The breach happened last week, he said.

No personal information was accessed, and the school's network was not affected, Gaspar said.

He did not know how many passwords were affected.

Gasper, who compared the incident to "someone getting hold of someone's locker number," said the school dealt with the situation.
