A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Schuylkill County on Thursday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 12:32 p.m. in a parking lot of the Cressona Mall in North Manheim Township.Troopers said David L. Reber, 53, of Pottsville, was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee through the lot near the Giant Market while Nelson R. Reppert, 74, of Cressona, was walking across the traffic way in front of the store. Reber failed to see Reppert and struck him with the left front of his vehicle.After impact Reppert was knocked to the ground and struck his head on the macadam. He was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, for treatment of moderate injuries. troopers said. Reber was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
