Start planning your winning costume for the Eldred Township Halloween Parade. It will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19.

The committee is now accepting free registrations but the deadline is Sunday.Treats are guaranteed for only preregistered applicants.Registration forms can be picked up at Kunkletown General Store, Kunkletown Post Office and Eldred Township municipal building.Bring a nonperishable item to be donated to PVEN food bank.Three cash prizes will be awarded for each category: Most original; cutest; ugliest; best pair (two, for example, Mickey and Minnie Mouse; Laurel and Hardy); Best group (walking); Best float.Everyone in the parade is asked to meet in St. Matthew's UCC picnic grove on Grove Road during check-in time from 11 a.m. to noon.Judging will begin promptly at 12:15 p.m. Only preregistered applicants will be judged.Unregistered participants are welcomed to walk in the parade.
