A Schuylkill County social club has been cited for a liquor law violation.

Pennsylvania State Police, District Office No. 9, Bethlehem, said that the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement issued a citation on Sept. 3 to the North Ward Social Club, at 521 Dock St., Schuylkill Haven.The violation was for possessed or operated gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmarking, as well as selling alcoholic beverages to nonmembers, on the social club's premises.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.In addition, the ALJ can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.The ALJ can also mandate training for the licenses in an effort to educate them on the requirements of being a licensee.
