State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a burglary that was reported at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lower Towamensing Township.

The victim is Victoria Alta, 49, of 365 MapleDrive.She told police someone entered her residence through a kitchen window by removing the air conditioning unit that had been in it. Once inside, the burglar stole a box of jewelry and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
